Welcome to the official Essex PGA website
The
PGA was founded in 1901 and is the governing body of professional
golf in Great Britain and Ireland. There are seven regional headquarters
located throughout Great Britain and Ireland, all having full-time
staff available
for advice on any aspects of the game. The PGA
National Headquarters is located at The Belfry,
Sutton Coldfield.
Within
Essex the EPGA operates a tournament circuit of over 24 events a
year. This includes EPGA Professional Championships, Match-play
events and Pro-Am’s. Whilst the PGA tournaments are restricted to
members, there are many opportunities for amateur golfers to participate
in Pro-Am competitions. With
over 70 Golf Clubs in Essex the
EPGA is an integral and active part of Essex golf. We are committed
to ‘provide professional golfers and their assistants employed at
Golf Clubs in Essex with the opportunity of playing competitive
golf and to provide amateurs from Essex Golf Clubs the opportunity
to play
competitive golf with professionals and assistants of the EPGA.
- EPGA
professionals are entrusted to helping golfers gain more enjoyment
from the sport by passing on expertise through information and
advise, whilst representing and upholding our code of ethics’.
- Every
PGA Professional is trained to give golf lessons to all standards
of golfer, personal to you, from beginner
to expert whether child or adult.
- Every
PGA Professional can provide advice on buying the right equipment
for your golf game.
- Remember
that you don’t have to be a golf club member to get a lesson or
advice from your PGA Professional.
Over
many years the EPGA has established and maintained strong association
with Essex
Businesses and Essex
Golf Clubs, developing into partnerships that
have proven benefits to all concerned, these opportunities continue.
We are always seeking individuals and businesses that wish to be
affiliated with the EPGA. However, support and enthusiasm together
with creating opportunities for developing golf at all levels is
the key and if you would like to be part of this then contact the
